Development Coordinator for #BeMoreLikeClaire
Position Description:
The part-time development coordinator will join the #BeMoreLikeClaire (#BMLC) team to diversify its donor base, foster collective generosity, and deepen revenue streams; refine donor, marketing and outreach communications; and increase awareness and engagement in the community to ensure sustainability, build community investment, and provide an expanded donor and volunteer base.
The individual in this position is expected to embrace #BMLC mission and guiding principles and its core values of Be Kind, Work Hard, Give Back. They will demonstrate support for them through professional interactions and activities.
#BeMoreLikeClaire, a 501(c)3 charitable organization, was formed in response to the tragic death of Claire Elizabeth VanLandingham, a promising young Navy dentist. #BeMoreLikeClaire allows those who loved her - and those who never had the pleasure of meeting her - to come together to continue the work that Claire most certainly would have done. #BMLC’s guiding principles are for all people to have access to healthy food, comprehensive health care, safe and affordable housing, role models and mentors and relationships free from cruelty, and to work together to protect the earth.

Position Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the executive director to build on a solid history of fundraising.
- Increase current support, and generate new streams of revenue.
- Provide strategic leadership supporting the organization’s donor relations and community awareness goals.
- Under the executive director’s supervision, work to identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts from corporations and foundations.
- Oversee community awareness activities.
- Provide strategic guidance to the marketing and communications functions in order to drive broad awareness and visibility for #BMLC’s important work in the community.
- Attend regular, in-person #BeMoreLikeClaire meetings as assigned.
- Handle special projects and individual donors as assigned.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong relationship building skills
- Attention to detail
- Understand and experience working in databases
- Ability to initiate, organize, and follow through with fundraising strategies
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, exercise excellent judgment and manage time well.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with the Google Suite
- Experience with non-profit organizations and boards
- Experience with fundraising and donor development
- Experience with budget management and reporting
- Experience with grant writing
