WALK "IN THEIR SHOES"
WITH CLAIRE'S COMMUNITY
In Their Shoes is an immersive exercise where participants walk "in the shoes" of a teen experiencing an unhealthy relationship. Claire's Community and #BeMoreLikeClaire staff will facilitate and participants will make decisions for their characters and gain new perspectives. A more in-depth description is included in the slideshow below. All our sessions honor diversity and are gender inclusive.
Due to some heavy content, this event is for anyone 14+. In Their Shoes is a free opportunity, but registration is required. |
AUGUST 16
6:30-8:30PM
Sessions of In Their Shoes are held in the Lawrence Public Library auditorium.
PARTICIPANT TESTIMONIALS
"In Their Shoes allowed me to step out of my life and into the life of another person with some complex life issues. It's easy to make judgments about the choices someone makes from the outside. Once you step into their shoes, you begin to understand just how difficult everyday things become."
From a Mother
"I wish we could walk through life with red flags jumping out at us as they do when you go through the In Their Shoes exercise. I feel more attuned to signs that a relationship may have red flags now and have been able to be a better friend because of it."
